Some of the most beautiful work of this craftsman, and many others, are in this book “Liège Gunmakers through their Work. 1800 - 1950”.

Léopold ANCION-MARX
Here is a rifle Comblain model 1882 of the Civic Guard recanned late (after 1924 in any case, even in 1946) for hunting by the house Ancion-Marx in Liege.
A very
common practice.

The
Léopold Ancion-Marx arms factory was active from 1890 until the second half of
the 20th century and registered no less than eleven patents and seven trademarks
from 1897 to 1933.
In the
blessed era before the consumer society, when nothing was thrown away and the
blast furnaces were not fuelled with weapons "that could still be used",
decommissioned military weapons were extensively converted into cheap
hunting/guarding weapons.
