Some of the most beautiful work of this craftsman, and many others, are in this book “Liège Gunmakers through their Work. 1800 - 1950”.

Boussart J.

Here is a nice pair of percussion pistols of good workmanship and in good condition! And the box looks full! Rifled barrels, calibre 9.4 mm, the lucky owner tells us.

No marks visible, maybe underneath the barrels ?

According to the “Who is who of the Liege armoury”, there was a Boussard Joseph active between 1843 and 1900.

According to Stöckel, there was a Jacques Boussart active in Liège around 1805.

There was also a J. Boussart, engraver and gunsmith active in Liège around 1855 1867. He exhibited at the 1867 International Exhibition in Paris.

Stöckel also mentions Boussard Joseph, active between 1843 and 1900. Maybe the same as Boussart J.

Finally, at Buigné et Jarlier: Boussart (Boussard) Joseph, engraver on firearms in 1855-1867, then in Paris from 1867. Probably an harquebusier since he put a weapon to the test in 1858.
