This gun is exactly the same as the
Deville
revolver. Was there an agreement between
Deville
and
Thomas Bruwier?
Bruwier
Thomas,
an armourer in Liège, filed in 1869 and 1870 two patents for the improvements
made to revolver guns and modifications made to the cylindrical cartouche-screw,
applicable to pistol-revolver.
It
doesn’t make sense that his name is on the handle carcass, hidden by the plaque!
The star
extraction disc is welded to the barrel!
Hypothesis:
When the
lever is fully extended, the disc juts out, which is very convenient for
ejection of the casings, but much more annoying when new cartridges have to be
inserted into the cylinder.
I remind
you that there are no indents or loading door.
The only
way to put cartridges into the cylinder is to open the revolver more or less
depending on the position of the lever by inserting cartridges across, is to get
stuck between the disc and the cylinder.
Hence the
radical solution: We weld the disc!
