Some of the most beautiful work of this craftsman, and many others, are in this book “Liège Gunmakers through their Work. 1800 - 1950”.

Burton Richard & C°

Here is a very classic folding rifle Leclercq system with two juxtaposed cannons also known as poacher since in principle, there is a way to fold it completely  (in order to be able to hide it “easily”). The length of the guns is certainly quite impressive. English Crosse.

The markings

ELG on star in crowned oval: accepted, in use since 1893

Perron: inspection, in use since 1853;

410-65 in coated omega: nominal size and length of the socket, in use since 30 June 1924;

10.4: size in mm;

M and B under star: countermarks of controllers, in use since 1877

EL: provisional proof, in use since 1853.

This rifle is therefore dated after 20 June 1924.

The Richard Burton & C° Liège brand is unfortunately unknown. However, I saw on Internet another folding rifle, but with a barrel, bearing the same mark.
