Traditional bulldog revolver often described on the site.

Stamps

STAR/ ELG in a crowned oval: acceptance mark- used 1893 to 1968.

Star/E : countermark of the controller – used 1877 to 1968.

Crown/R rifled bore - used 1894 to 1968.

Crown/C : mark often encountered, but not identified.

The manufacturer

Spangled TC is unknown to me! I found a CROUTE Theodore, of Mortier, who registered 10 patents from 1864 to 1880 including a patent for a locking system on a center fire revolver.

However it's impossible to say if in 1893, he was still manufacturimg guns and that this mark was really his mark.
