Markings

Peron (little step) : inspection, in use since 1853;

EL: provisional proof, in use since 1852;

ELG on star in crowned oval: acceptance, from 1893 to 1968;

q, P and E under asterisks: countermarks of controllers, in use since 1877;

12 on C in vertical diamond: calibre, in use between 1898 and 1924;

P 1 K269.7: gun weight, in use between 1892 and 1924;

Annual letter which should be the letter C of 1924;

D=70m over 20.6: chamber length and diameter in mm after optional smoke-free powder test, between 1892 and 1924.

I also seem to see an A in a C (gunner?).

We also see the letters D.JD which are attributed to Delcommune Auguste & Cie, a general partnership: A. Delcommune, J. Joiris & L. Dejardin, rue des Clarisses, 24 in Liège (registered with the BE from 1920 to 1925). They are the successors of Hanchar-Duthoit.
