Some of the most beautiful work of this craftsman, and many others, are in this book “Liège Gunmakers through their Work. 1800 - 1950”.

DEMARTEAU or DELCOUR DUPONT

Here is a nice small hammerless revolver made in Liège, nicely engraved and with beautiful grips plates. Foldable trigger. Five shots, 6.35 caliber.

Markings

ELG on star in crowned oval: accepted, since 1893;

Lion on PV: powder test, since 1898;

AB or AH under asterisk: countermark of a controller, since 1877.

There is also a D underneath the plaques: one suggests a member of the Demarteau dynasty, or Jean Delcour-Dupont, industrialist at Nessonvaux in 1921, but without any guarantee.
