DRISSEN Oscar

It is about a revolver top break and central percussion. It manufactured out of crucible cast steel, technique often used by the arms manufacturers of Liège.

It would be of gauge 45 or 450. The rifled bore is with sides with a rectangular front sight.

The higher and back part of the barrel presents a hollow with hole of screw because probably of a missing part.

The closing placed on the side postpones right of the weapon been the subject of the patent n° 034512 of the 24/04/1874 of which copies joined to the present!

The smooth cylinder is with six rooms. It is decorated with engravings in foliage as the remainder of the weapon.

The plates of grips also seem to be in moulded horn representing an interlacing of foliage.

The weapon carries the lawful punches of the proofhouse of Liege, namely:

ELG* in a vertical oval: final acceptance, of use of 1846 to 1993.

U crowned: countermark of the controller, of use of 1853 to 1877.

The weapon also carries the following marks:

Oscar DRISSEN Breveté (patent): it is about the mark of the arms manufacturer-inventor Oscar DRISSEN of Liège, author of two patents in 1874.
