Some of the most beautiful work of this craftsman, and many others, are in this book “Liège Gunmakers through their Work. 1800 - 1950”.

Galand "Pistolet d'assaut"
Here a little running gun of shooting of gauge not specified, with external
hammer and tilting barrel, derived from carbins and small rifles called system
Leclerc(q), with side lever of opening and forearm, unusual on a pistol.
The consultation of the book of Guy Gadisseur “Arms manufacturers of Liège of
catalogs 1892-1930”, page 153, makes me lean for a pistol of attack sold by
house R. Galand around 1914 because 1° it has also a side lever 2° it has also a
forearm 3° the shell of protection by gunner is fixed at the trigger guard;
however, there is on the trigger guard of this pistol a part which is the
fastener on which the screw of maintenance of the shell is screwed.

According to the catalog of the Galand house, the pistol was available in the
calibres of
8 mm French
ordnance
(known as Lebel), 38 and 44 S&W, for the shooting
either with real ball, or with inoffensive ball.
It's a pity that the gauge is not specified. On markings either, alas.
This kind of pistoln was certainly not sold only by house R. Galand, but thus in
particular by it.
