Some of the most beautiful work of this craftsman, and many others, are in this book “Liège Gunmakers through their Work. 1800 - 1950”.

GUYOT J.

Pocket central fire revolver with rebound hammer, of the VeloDog type (5.56 x 40 mm cal).

"MV Breveté" refers probably to some improvement of the maker, who could be one of the following:

VERVIER M registered 1861-1876. Holder of a patent dated 1881, covering an extractor rod holding system applicable to revolvers.

VERVIER-NIZET Michel, rue Tête-de-Bœuf 13 in Liège. Between 1871 and 1876, he obtained two patents covering a double locking system for topbreak revolvers, and an automatic mechanical system for the rotation of the cylinder in revolving firearms.

However, a more precise identification is difficulet, due to the lack of patent and other documents.

"J.G" refers probably to a retailer (maybe J. GUYOT of Trembleur, prior to WW I).

"IVI.I" is most probably a shop or cryptic mark.
