Jamart & C°

It is about and shotgun to central percussion of type hammerless. The unrifled bores are of gauge 12. The locks are square with engraving and the stick in walnut is of type “pistol”. The opening is practiced using a key “Top Lever”. The forearm is with push rod.

The weapon carries the lawful punches of the proofhouse of LIEGE, namely:

Y*: countermark of the controller of use of 1877 to our days.

PV surmounted of a stylized lion: Test with the powder without smoke, of use of 1898 to 1968.

EL in English letters: provisional test, of use of 1852 to our days.

Small letter Z: yearly letter of 1947. DATE OF MANUFACTURE

COKE the 18.3 (remainder is illegible): chokes barrels: gauged to 22 cm of the breech. In use of 1924 to the 26.02.1968.

The weapon also carries the following marks:

47100: serial number of the weapon.

ACIER SPECIAL (SPECIAL STEEL): type of steel used for the barrels.

FUSIL JAMART & C° LIEGE: mark of the manufacturer of the weapon is arms manufacturer JAMART & C°, street Saint Léonard, 395 in LIEGE. He becomes JAMART BROTHERS (BE 1930/1931) then JAMAR FRES & Co street of Bayards, 67-69 in LIEGE (BE 1931/1936) to become again JAMART Frères (BE 1936/1945) and finally JAMAR & Co S.A. (BE 1945/1958). This one deposited of 1924 to 1932, five patents.
