Larsen Winterross

It is a Larsen Winterross Breveté rifle (Norwegian weapon) manufactured in Liège by an unknown manufacturer. Does she have a partially erased number that could be 2258?

The weapon is a 16.4 mm caliber. It is a model with lever in custody, the rearmament is carried out with the help of an external rod placed on the right side of the rocker. The round barrel has many stripes that could not be counted. It has a cylindrical brass front sight. The walnut magnifying butt is of the “pistol” type. The left side carries what appears to be an arrow-shaped safety.

This weapon would be patented. (Belgian or Norwegian?) No. 334 244 filed in 1886.

The weapon bears two hallmarks from the Liège test bench, namely:

Peron: inspection, in use from 1853 to the present day.

D*: Controller’s countermark, in use from 1893 to 1968.
