Some of the most beautiful work of this craftsman, and many others, are in this book “Liège Gunmakers through their Work. 1800 - 1950”.

MANUFACTURE LIEGEOISE D’ARMES À FEU. (MLAF)
Here is a very nice shotgun juxtaposed with
turntables, Anson & Deeley system, beautiful English lacrosse, beautiful floral
decoration, from the
Manufacture Liégeoise d’Armes à feu.
Markings
i: annual letter of 1930; however, the
MLAF
was registered at the proofhouse of Liège from 1866 to 1929... so a bit strange;

ML
crowned in a circle:

brand:
AD

Lion

powder guns... which is not the case for this rifle... There is something that
escapes me...
The plates are signed
GROSJEAN Frères:
it is known that a certain
Julien GROSJEAN
filed a patent in 1921 for a rocker rifle, and above all another, number 320689
of September 12, 1924 concerning the simplification of the operation of a
hunting rifle plate. But the team doesn’t have those patents. We also know that
he was an armourer at 295 Rue Saint-Laurent in Liège between 1925 and 1935. To
be even more precise, he was not yet a gunmaker in 1914, according to a yearbook
of that year. And in 1938, he no longer lived on Rue Saint-Laurent.

Here is a very classic shotgun juxtaposed Anson & Deeley system, in principle (see below) from the Manufacture Liégeoise d’Armes à feu (ML crowned with the opening key), already extensively mentioned on the site littlegun.be, both among the identified artisans and in the exceptional collection.
Butt style pistol to cheek.
Its only “curiosity” lies in the fact that it was presented to the proofhouse of Liège during the Second World War, in 1942 (annual letter u), and moreover after the period of registration of the MLAF at the proofhouse of Liège, namely between 1866 and 1929, according to the sources at my disposal !
Either the barrel is not original ... or I am
seriously mistaken. In fact, there are still traces of
MLAF
in 1944. So there's nothing to worry about.
