Maquinay Frères & Vivario

Shotgun in a case signed Maquinay Frères and Vivaro, Belgium, 19th century. Percussion system, side-by-side barrels in Turkish ribbon Damascus, inlaid with gold and silver, inscribed "Canons Damas Turc Superfin" (Superfine Turkish Damascus barrels), hallmarked ELG (Liège).

Richly carved burr walnut stock with a deer hunting theme, bronzed steel plates marked in gold "Maquinay Frères and Vivaro" on one side and "A Liège" on the other.

Maquinay and Vivaro were two mid-19th-century Liège gunsmiths.

In a case with accessories for mounting, maintenance, and bullet manufacturing, made of steel, brass, bronze, horn, and ivory.
