OURY Toussaint
Here is an uncommunicated chromed central percussion revolver with a cylinder tilt system to the left of the breech.
The markings
T. OURY breveté 261: The name of the patentee and probably the manufacture number of the weapon.
ELG on star in oval: acceptance between 1846 and 1893
U under star: controller's countermark, between 1877 and 1968
AG under the cross plate: it could be, but without any guarantee, A. GAROT in Herstal, of which nothing is known (until now).
Toussaint Joseph OURY, armorer at Leval Saint Remy, filed four patents between 1874 and 1889, including the 060703 of March 10, 1883 illustrated here concerning “a system of repeating pistol with automatic extraction and central percussion”.
