It is about a revolver of pocket of type Lefaucheux without trigger guard and with folding trigger. The barrel is with 8 sides with front sight “twin wheel” .The cylinder with cell is seems me it with 6 blows with pin of gauge 7mm. The trigger is folding without trigger guard. The metal rod slides in a guide integrated into the console and is maintained by a small leaf spring. The loading is practiced by a swivelling door placed on the right side of the weapon. The plates of stick out of wooden squared are maintained by a transverse screw and two brass rivet washers.

The weapon carries the punches of the proofhouse of Liège, namely:

ELG* in a crowned oval: final acceptance post 1893.

O*: countermark of the controller post 1877.

R crowned: rifled bore, of use of 1894 to 1968.

The weapon also carries the following marks:

J.P.C. in a rectangle: This mark does not appear in the collections of marks of Liège, it perhaps acts of the mark of Jules PIRE & Co in Antwerp which occurred De Keyser, 41. This arms manufacturer used mark JPC in a circle which applied to the sticks (see enclosure). Nothing does not prohibit to think that it used also a rectangle.

29 in several places of the weapon should be the serial number.

Crowned OD: it could be a question of the mark of a subcontractor is ORY-DUQUENNE, arms manufacturer street SAINT LAURENT, 92 in LIEGE. (BE 1904/1934).

GF - W: they are other not identified subcontractors.

4: probably a mark of workshop?

Appendix: page of a PIRE catalogue presenting the revolver at pin “LE PARISIEN” identical one to the present weapon.
