Some of the most beautiful work of this craftsman, and many others, are in this book “Liège Gunmakers through their Work. 1800 - 1950”.

SCHOLBERG Gustave

Here is an imposing revolver that, from afar, reminds of some models of Smith & Wesson, but its opening system to tilt the barrel is very special.

The paternity of this weapon must be attributed to Gustave SCHOLBERG himself.

A resident in Montevideo, he was represented in Belgium by Mr. Hamal who filed his patent (080295) on January 16, 1888.

Other weapons from BROQUA & SCHOLBERG have already been presented on the site.

Only two Belgian punches can be seen: ELG on star in oval, for acceptance before 11 July 1893, and a G under star, the countermark of a controller. The caliber would be a .45.
