Simon Frères

It is a pocket revolver made in Liège and called "puppy" as opposed to "bull-dog" of which it is a reduced reproduction. The short barrel is round and striped. He's wearing a half-moon front sight. The cylinder is hollow and probably 5 shots. The left flank is equipped with a Mauser safety device. The wand rotates on an axis to be introduced into the rooms. The trigger is foldable without trigger guard. The wooden plates are gridded and joined by a transverse screw and two brass rosettes.

The weapon bears the statutory hallmarks of the Liège proofhouse, namely:

Crowned R: rifled barrel, in use from 30 January 1894 to 26 February 1968.

Z* : countermark of the controller post 1877.

The ELG* stamp in a crowned oval is not visible in the photos, it should be on the inside of the barrel. It signifies the definitive acceptance of the tests and was valid from 11 July 1893 to 26 February 1968.

The weapon also bears the trademark LSF in a shield and which is the trademark of the Liège gunsmith Simon Frères (weapons, ammunition, accessories) rue Nysten, 36 in Liège (circa 1924)
