Some of the most beautiful work of this craftsman, and many others, are in this book “Liège Gunmakers through their Work. 1800 - 1950”.

Stevens P.

This is a common Lefaucheux pinfire revolver.

It bears the statutory stamps of the proofhouse of Liège attesting to its Belgian and non-French origin, namely:

ELG* in an oval without crown: acceptance, in use from 1846 to 1893.

Crowned Y: countermark of the controller, in use from 1853 to 1877.

The weapon bears the trademark of the patented inventor Eugène Lefaucheux and the trademark PS crowned undeniably the trademark of the Liège manufacturer. It could possibly be Stevens P. (BE 1858/1872) who may still need to be better defined.
