Some of the most beautiful work of this craftsman, and many others, are in this book “Liège Gunmakers through their Work. 1800 - 1950”.

Vendrix Gustave

This is a very common single-shot rifle with a Warnant system. It should be, I think, 6 mm annular caliber. It was equipped with an adjustable diopter, apparently not foreseen at the start. The extractor is sliding and the hammer flat with annular percussion. The long barrel has 8 sections with triangular back sight. The butt (made of walnut wood?) is cut in "English style".

The weapon bears the hallmarks of the proofhouse of Liège, namely:

ELG* in a crowned oval: mark of the test bench, in use from 1893 to 1968.

Peron: inspection, in use from 1853 to the present day.

R crowned: striped gun, in use until 1968.

C*: countermark of the controller, in use of 18

The weapon also bears the crowned GV trademark attributed to Gustave Vendrix (see attached advertisement of him).
