With the reduction in the success of the 1909 wholesale gauge, Mauser realized that it could be interesting to manufacture the same one with lighter ammunition. The selected ammunition was the 6.35mm Browning in 1910.
Approximately 60.000 were manufactured between 1910 and 1913.
After the beginning of the Second World War, the production continued and those at this time manufactured there were called 6.35 new models and had the same plates of grips as the 1934.
