It’s a “Model 1890 Slide Action Files” 1st model, calibre .22 Short WRF (Winchester Rim Fire), octagonal barrel of 24 inches, magazine “three quarters”.
Smooth right American stick.
Barrel and magazine Blue, marbled breech.
Damage, because the 2nd model with stick with handle pistol, buttplate “Swiss” and Lyman diopter is very rare and is worth 6 times as much.
I am unaware of completely the significance of the punch to the lion, but in my opinion it is not an official mark.
Untraceable up to now.
