Firing Alidade ?

object is probably a firing alidade, but for what artillery piece?
A few
details about this type of object:
The
alidade is hinged on a graduated crown that generally overlaps the navigation
compass, but can be independent; it is then called a taximeter.
The
substructure with the three foot screws on which the alidade rotates contains
the vertical axis, the horizontal circle, its adjustment drive, and the
associated illumination mirror.
In the
simplest case, the astrolabe, the alidade is a rotating arm that carries a sight
at both ends.
