Some of the most beautiful work of this craftsman, and many others, are in this book “Liège Gunmakers through their Work. 1800 - 1950”.

DOLNE (Apache)
Here is a revolver known as “apache”
Dolne-Bar,
“light” one could say since it has a 5 mm pinfire caliber. It is mainly
available in 7 mm pinfire.
This type
of revolver with a punch and dagger blade was the subject of a fine article by
Henri Vuillemin in the Gazette des Armes n° 392.
He also mentions in particular the
Delhaxe
revolvers of the same model.

who also signed similar or variant weapons
The copy we are dealing with is therefore due to
Louis
Dolne-Bar, established in Rue Stéphany in
Liège. He was registered at the proofhouse of Liège from 1873 to 1881.
According
to one source, the patent for this device was filed in England in 1875 under
number 534, but according to A.W. Taylerson, the patent in question relates to
"a simplified method of fastening the grips by eliminating the need to insert
their corners".
There is,
however, a much earlier Belgian patent, 026836 of 30 December 1869, on such a
revolver "out of the ball" which presents, admittedly, slight differences from
this one.
In
addition, there is another Belgian patent, 027218 of March 31, 1870, which in my
humble opinion is very similar (see especially Exhibit A).
Understand who can.
In any
case, Belgian patents do exist.
It bears
the mention Inv . Bte 717. The copy on page 16 of the GDA article is numbered
119. He looks the same to me.
What
intrigues me is the absence of any punches of the Liège proofhouse, not only on
the specimen we are dealing with but also on those mentioned in the GdA article.
Of course,
Louis Dolne-Bar
stopped its activities in 1881, but the production of these "Apaches" continued
by other Liège gunsmiths, assures Henri Vuillemin.
And
anyway, I don’t see why all these weapons don’t have a punch(s), at least on the
photos of this one and in the article of the GdA.

REVOLVER combined DOLNE (Apache)
This weapon combined with the astonishing aspect was manufactured by L DOLNE in LIEGE starting from a patent deposited in 1869.
This curious revolver combining a weapon with fire, a headache or American fist and a dagger was certainly more spectacular than really effective.
Its system with pin of small gauge and the too small blade was there probably for something.
Only the headache could have with the body with body, a certain effectiveness.
As for unfolding the weapon at the time of a surprised aggression, all the doubts are allowed with regard to the results.
In spite of that manufacture out of steel and out of brass is extremely acceptable.
