Henri Christophe
Revolver of pocket with central percussion and box frame. The swell trigger is pierced and is without trigger guard. The rifled bore is round with a back sight in half-moon. The cylinder with 5 blows is grooved.
The plates of stick are probably in bone, they are retained by a transverse screw and two brass rivet washers.
The weapon carries the punches of the proofhouse of Liege, namely:
ELG on star in a vertical oval: final acceptance, of use of 1853 to 1893.
X spangled: countermark of the controller post 1877.
R crowned: rifled bore, of use of 1894 to 1968.
The weapon also carries the following marks:
H. CHRISTOPHE A BRUXELLES:
Montigny in Brussels, 11 Gallery of the Queen, dies! Its widow marries in second wedding a certain Henri Christophe whom will succeed Louis Christophe better known of us!
I find a small trace of it also about 1896 in a correspondence with Raick.
For the dates, I don’t have anything precis and for the family ties, I suppose that Louis is the son of Henri!
The name of CHRISTOPHE is well known by Louis CHRISTOPHE having worked with MONTIGNY, CHRISTOPHE Julien of LIEGE and CHRISTOPHE Charles of LIEGE.

C in a circle: it is perhaps about the mark of the manufacturer C like CHRISTOPHE?
