Some of the most beautiful work of this craftsman, and many others, are in this book “Liège Gunmakers through their Work. 1800 - 1950”.

Gilles Decortis
Revolver with vertical percussion (pinfire) and box frame.
The cylinder with 6 blows of gauge 12 mm is smooth.
The loading is practiced using a side door with button, being raised thanks to the action of an external spring.
The barrel is round with back sight.
The rod under the barrel slides in a guide integrated into the console and is maintained by a small leaf spring.
The curved trigger is without trigger guard.
The pear stick consists of two plates which seem me to be out of ebony, they are maintained by a transverse screw and two rivet washers with ears.
The stick ends in a ring and a screw-pivot.
I noticed one punch of the proofhouse of Liege, namely ELG about star in a vertical oval which means final acceptance, of use of 1846 to 1893. The countermark of the controller is invisible on the photographs.
The mark (monogram) GD struck with the back of the cylinder could in any assumption belong to the arms manufacturer Gilles DECORTIS (see its signature raised on one of the 8 patents that it deposited between 1851 and 1875, attached).
This same mark was already raised on a revolver FAGNUS with chain and a revolver POLAIN!
