A Liège-made Flobert rifle with an English cheekbone, a Swiss back sight, a
rifled barrel and a trigger guard to volute.
Calibre 6 mm Flobert.
The markings
Peron (several times): inspection since 1853.
ELG in oval: accepted before 1893.
L under star: countermark of the controller since 1877.
JD: These initials could be those of:
Decortis J. J. (BE 1877/1884).
Dehousse J. (1864 to 1884: three patents) but unlikely given the
patents in question!
Delmotte M. J. , who filed a patent in 1878 for a so-called “visor
extractor” applicable to the Flobert rifles but which has nothing to do with the
rifle shown here.
Deprez Joseph (BE 1874/1886).
Dupont Jean (1881/1885).
Dupont Joseph (BE 1881 -1885).

Delmotte M. J.
filed a patent in 1878 for a so-called visor extractor applicable to Flobert
rifles. This patent has nothing to do with the rifle presented here, it only
tends to think that it was capable of making this type of weapon.
