Dumoulin (maybe)
Here is a classic pistol of Liège manufacture of calibre 6 mm flobert. It MUST
be a production of François Dumoulin et Cie: see the last revolver of the link
below, the mark D. F. looks like the one on the gun, without the dot after the
F:
It was sold by the famous house Lefaucheux 37 rue Vivienne in Paris.
The markings
ELG on star in oval: accepted between 1846 and 1893;
q inverted under a star: countermark of a controller between 1877 and 1968.
There’s also a name but it’s indecipherable because badly struck
First letter: B or D or P or R.
Second letter: I.
3rd letter: C or G or S.
Fourth letter: C or G or S.
5th letter: O.
Sixth letter: H or U or Y.
7th letter: B or D or P or R.

I have serious doubts about the attribution of this gun to François Dumoulin,
given the period of activity (1894-1908 and then 1908-1968) which does not
correspond to this type of gun dating from the second half of the 19th century
(according to the marks, it was presented to the proofhouse between 1877 and
1893).
