Lepage Frères
Here is a very classic
Lefaucheux
pinfire revolver from the house of
Lepage Frères
that has already been extensively mentioned on the site and in the exceptional
collection.
Foldable
release, octagonal gun. Calibre 7 mm pinfire.
There
are only two hallmarks of the Liège proofhouse :
ELG on
star in oval : acceptance between 1846 and 1893 ;
K under
star: countermark of a controller, between 1877 and 1968.

Lepage Frères
Here is a classic revolver without trigger guard for pinfire cartridges 7 mm
manufactured in Liège. The LF mark on arched lion would be that of the company
Lepage Frères, registered in proofhouse of Liège between 1857 and 1868, which
corresponds perfectly to the weapon in question.
Unfortunately, we do not have the date of filing of the trademark.
In addition to the brand, there are:
ELG on star in oval: accepted between 1853 and 1877
Inverted and crowned Q: Controller countermark between 1853 and 1877.

Scraping on the net, our specialist in the field found us:

Paris, they provided the National Guard. Medal of 1st class at the Exhibition in
Paris in 1855. Trademark registration in 1859."
(Is that that mark there? Mystery!)
