Some of the most beautiful work of this craftsman, and many others, are in this book “Liège Gunmakers through their Work. 1800 - 1950”.

Manufacture Liégeoise d'armes à feu
This is a
classic small Lincoln revolver, beautifully crafted and beautifully decorated.
.320
caliber, five shots.
We do not
see the ELG mark on the star which is to be crowned (in use from 1893) since we
can clearly see the R crowned on the frame near the barrel on the right side,
which was brought to weapons from 1894.
Below,
the star R is the countermark of a controller, in use from 1877.
On the left side of the revolver, one sees an
M
followed - perhaps - by an
L Brté, which
could correspond to the famous
Manufacture Liégeoise d’armes à feu,
already widely mentioned on the site.
You can
see on the right side a button that allows you to block the action of the
hammer.
ML has filed more than twenty patents, but none on such a security. But as
we know, the mention “patented” does not necessarily mean that the weapon in
question has been patented: in Liège, in any case, it was a kind of
advertisement, to indicate that the manufacturer had filed a patent or patents.

Here is of course a hammerless revolver produced by
the ML,
Manufacture Liégeoise d'Armes à Feu,
already extensively mentioned on the site.
See the
last of this page for the same markings.
Markings
ELG on
star in crowned oval: accepted by the Liège Test Bench, in use from 11 July 1893
to 1968;
B under
asterisk: controller countermark, in use from 1877 to 1968;
ML crowned: Manufacture Liégeoise d'Armes à Feu;
MJ Bté:
see below;
320:
probably the caliber.
Schweigert E. in Augsburg is an armourer that still exists (currently the fourth
generation).
We see a
safety button on the last photos: we know that the German market was fond of
safety systems on revolvers.
As for
MJ breveté (patented),
a member of the team came to the conclusion that he was the holder of the
patents annexed for security systems, namely
Michel JAMAR,
gunsmith, residing at Bd d’Avroy, 16, and, in 1903, rue Saint-Jean, 26.
From 1863
to 1902, he filed seven Belgian patents, notably patent 76789 of 15/04/1887,
followed by patent 166893 of 22/11/1902 (perfection). This revolver is therefore
equipped with the refinement (since it dates after July 11, 1893).

Revolver with trigger guard of the type BULLDOG of Liège.
This weapon with 5 shots seems it is of gauge 380 with central fire, the loading is done by a door on the right side.
Crowned ML is of course the mark of Manufacture Liégeoise d’Armes à Feu, street of Vertbois, 54 in Liege.
