Mariette “With screw”
To have a MARIETTE “With screw” is already rather little running, to find of them three of models and different calibres, that concerns the miracle!!
- The first with the top is in 12 mm, it is the largest model, it has the long sliding tube which authorizes “to slip” the barrel and the cylinder forwards without detaching them from the unit. It draws in simple and double action.
- The second is much smaller and of gauge 7mm, the sliding tube is shorter, to reload it’s necessary to remove the barrel, then the cylinder of the whole of the weapon. It draws only in simple action.
- The third is also of small size and gauge 7mm but has a trigger ring and draws only in double action.

The weapon
It is about a pinfire revolver and open frame, also called “screw revolver” because of the large serrated roller screw placed under the carcass and which is used to disunite the two parts of the weapon to support the loading/unloading of it. The part before (barrel) slips on the axis of the barrel forwards thus releasing the back of the cylinder.
The barrel (with 7 stripes in theory) is round with a small hexagonal part with the mouth which supports the triangular front sight with round end cut in the mass. The other end of the barrel supports the bead also taken in the mass.
This type of weapon could be carried out in gauge 7, 9 and 12 33.
The stick consists of two smooth plates out of wooden (Walnut?) joined together by a transverse screw and two rivet washers. It ends in a metal cap, a screw-pivot and a ring.
The iron rod slides in a guide placed on the right side of the console.
The loading is practiced by a door placed on the right side and which is raised using an internal spring.

This weapon functions only in single action, the trigger has an extremely weak displacement, comparable with a stecher!
