Some of the most beautiful work of this craftsman, and many others, are in this book “Liège Gunmakers through their Work. 1800 - 1950”.

Nagant 1877 (Copy)
Here is a pistol with two juxtaposed barrels in caliber
380 short, beautifully made and in very good condition, strongly inspired by the
Remington-Nagant pistol adopted for the Belgian Gendarmerie in 1877 (in 9 mm
“Belgian“); this gun has two triggers, while the belgian gendarmerie has only
one (which was also the subject of the Nagant patent).
It is surprising that such a weapon, already outdated when it was adopted in
1877, was still commercialized after 1894.
The markings
Peron: inspection, after 1853;
ELG on star in crowned oval: accepted, between 1893 and 1968;
R crowned: barrel stripped, since 1894
M under star: countermark of a controller since 1877.
