Jean Baptiste Rongé
It is about a pistol of shooting to barrel rocking called SIMPLEX by the manufacturer. The rifled bore of gauge 22 Flobert is with 8 sides. The trigger without trigger guard is of type “Mexican”. The weapon carries an engraving of foliage of the “German” type. The stick is in walnut squared.
The weapon carries the punches of the proofhouse of Liege, namely:
ELG * in a crowned oval: final acceptance post 1893.
Al coupled and spangled: countermark of the controller post 1877.
Peron: inspection post 1853.
It also carries the following marks:
Crowned JBR: mark of manufacturer of Jean-baptise RONGÉ in LIEGE (see the site).
FL 22C - 5,3: gauge 22 Flobert.
8569: serial number.
DM between two accordance and JN: unknown marks, a subcontractor perhaps?
JUBANZIGER ST CALLEN: most probably the retailer!
