GALAND René

It is about a pistol of shooting of precision of the type FLOBERT to annular percussion 22LR.

The trigger guard is with rest-finger and the trigger is striped on its lower half to avoid the slip of the finger.

The stick banana is in walnut smooth.

The barrel is with 8 sides with back sight and bead.

The extractor of casing is placed between the hammer and the breech.

The peak of hammer is squared.

The rifled bore carries the engraving of manufacturer GALAND Rene to LIEGE as well as an engraving in Spanish language “A ESPINGARDA MINEIRA” meaning that it is about a gun MINEIRA of name of the local retailer most probably.

The weapon carries the lawful punches of the proofhouse of LIEGE, namely:

ELG on star in a crowned oval: final acceptance post 1893.

Y spangled: countermark of the controller post 1877.

Peron: inspection, of use of 1853 to our days.

R crowned: rifled bore, of use of 1894 to 1968.

The weapon also carries the mark FL22L which means that it is of gauge 22L Flobert.

In appendix: a page of catalogue GALAND presenting an almost identical weapon.
