Here is an hunting rifle with beautiful damask barrels, marked M. LEDENT, weapons manufacturer in Nessonvaux. Opening key between the hammers, semi-pistol butt.

AB under a star: countermark of a controller from 1877 to 1968

Letter a: probably the annual letter for 1922.

12 on C in vertical diamond: calibre between 1898 and 1924

D=70 m over 20.4: chamber length in mm and diameter in mm after optional smoke-free powder test between 1892 and 1924

P 1 k 607.6 : Gun weight capable of firing smokeless powder from 1892 to 1924

EL: provisional event since 1852

Choke 17.9 on 18.2: choke gun, between 1910 and 1924

JJ in a flattened oval: it might think of the Ateliers Jacquemart in Herstal, but they were active between 1943 and 1966, which does not correspond to all the other stamps: so mystery...

Q under asterisk: countermark of a controller from 1877 to 1968.

M LEDENT, a weapons manufacturer in Nessonvaux, is unfortunately unknown to us until now.

There was indeed a M. LEDENT in Herstal listed in 1910 and 1925, rue Large Voie 43 and then 21-27, but it is not known whether there is a relationship.

There was also a LEDENT-JUNKER L. luxury gun manufacturer in Nessonvaux, listed in 1910.
