Some of the most beautiful work of this craftsman, and many others, are in this book “Liège Gunmakers through their Work. 1800 - 1950”.

Lepage Frères

Here is a classic revolver without trigger guard for pinfire cartridges 7 mm manufactured in Liège. The LF mark on arched lion would be that of the company Lepage Frères, registered in proofhouse of Liège between 1857 and 1868, which corresponds perfectly to the weapon in question. Unfortunately, we do not have the date of filing of the trademark.

In addition to the brand, there are:

ELG on star in oval: accepted between 1853 and 1877

Inverted and crowned Q: Controller countermark between 1853 and 1877.

GP and PHL

Scraping on the net, our specialist in the field found us:

“Fabrique Lepage Frères in Liège Paris 12 Rue d’Enghien.

LEPAGE Brothers (Henri & Perrin). Arquebusiers -manufacturers in Liège (Belgium) between 1823 and 1860. Later they were arms manufacturers whose depot was in Paris, they provided the National Guard. Medal of 1st class at the Exhibition in Paris in 1855. Trademark registration in 1859."

(Is that that mark there? Mystery!)
